Make digital photo contact
sheets
Contact
sheets are small, low quality copies of all the photos in a folder. Put only photos in the folder. Each sheet holds about 35 photos. Programs that
make contact sheets will generate as many sheets as necessary. It’s easier to
scan through pages of thumbnail pictures than lists of file names. You can also
cut the sheets up and use the pictures to visually plan a project. Great for
storyboarding.
You
do need a program to make contact sheets, but here’s the great thing. Making a
contact sheet of the images in a folder on your computer or CD is a feature of
the Windows system as well as many photo editing programs. There’s also free
shareware programs like Xorax Contact Sheet 1
